A common complaint of the design was that during the starting procedure the geometry to the tail boom could be altered to the detriment of the tail drive. For safety the model should have one firm hand on the rotor head during the starting procedure. The other hand will be controlling the starter motor that needs to be held firmly against the starter cone. Downward pressure on the main rotor head could flatten the undercarriage. Altering the rear undercarriage will impact the tail boom stays that are bolted to the rear undercarriage. Any change to the geometry may impact the smooth running of the tail drive shaft that runs into the tail boom through a narrow slot.

To combat this problem a stand was made so that no amount of pressure on the rotor head will distort the undercarriage. Two blocks of wood have been prepared so that the chassis cannot move during the starting procedure.
