The chassis is relatively straightforward by modern standards which comprises of a single flat plate of aluminium for the running gear to be bolted onto. With second hand components it is important to ensure that the main plate is indeed flat and that the undercarriage legs are at least symmetrical. |

One tip during the assembly of this stage is to hold the nut steady and tighten up the bolt rather than rotate the nut in a socket while holding the bolt steady. This will prevent the aluminium being scuffed by the socket wrench. A small piece of electrical tape was inserted between the chassis and the undercarriage prevent any metal to metal noise in the event that a bolt loosens in flight. |
