Main & tail blade assembly |
The main blade roots and tips are treated to a clear fuel proof lacquer. |
The paddles and tail blades are also treated to the same fuel proof treatment. |
The main blades are covered in white Solartrim. |
The Solartrim is cut to shape and applied to the leading edge first. Care needs to be taken not to trap unwanted air bubbles that could spoil the aerofoil of the blade. |
As with any set of blades they need to be balanced for their centre of mass. |
Wooden blades that are over 20 years old and unmatched require special care. |
The tail blades were covered in black Solartrim and balanced. |
