Tail boom assembly |
The tail components removed from the mechanics and prepared for painting and more importantly drying. |

The tail truss assembly painted in fuel proof white. |

When dry the tail boom can be reassembled. Note that the four grub screws used to couple the tail drive were tightened evenly to minimise any runout. |

The areas where the tail feathers were to be added were masked so that the clamps didn’t crush the paint. |

The tail feathers were prepared with their red stripes. Their clamps can also be seen. |

White trim tape was applied to the tail boom to provide extra grip for the clamps. This method prevented the paint being crushed and detracting from the overall finish. |

The tail feathers and skid applied as per the instructions. |
