All the chassis components had their rough edges removed and were anodised black. The anodising will make the surface stronger and will cut down on the possibility of metal to metal noise which could cause radio interference. |

The assembly is straightforward and required no modification. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Now that the chassis has grown it is easy to see why it made sense to install the servos at an earlier stage. |
|

|

|
All the nuts and bolts were tightened while the assembly was on a flat surface. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
The instructions suggested using rubber to ensure a tight fit onto the main frame – trim tape proved to be sufficient. Note: a subsequent modification was to drill a hole through just one of the rear U shaped clamps and the aluminium cross brace and insert a self tapping machine screw – this would prevent the undercarriage moving when pulling vigorously on the recoil starter. |
