The Bell 47 H-1 was the deluxe version of the model 47G. It was introduced in 1955 and sold as luxury personal transport for three abreast in a sound proofed cabin with leather upholstery. Larry Bell felt that this concept was to be the future for affluent middle class transport. However, the outright purchase and ongoing maintenance prevented widespread acceptance and only 33 were ever built. However, it remains one of the better looking model 47 variants and was Larry’s personal favourite. |

There is no kit that has ever been available for this model so a lot of research has been required and bespoke fabrication of the mechanics, undercarriage, and fuselage. The model detailed here is of 1/9th scale based upon the main rotor diameter. It is designed for a 30 class two stroke model engine and 5 servo operation. |
